Join us on Saturday June 20, 2-5pm for the Opening Reception of SANCTUARY: Our Sacred Place, a captivating photography exhibition by Little Haiti documentary photographer, Woosler Delisfort, delves into the spiritual origins of Miami’s Indigenous, African, and Caribbean communities, sharing moments of divine connection in temples, churches, and mosques.

Over 75 photographs will be showcased to highlight how culture is creating sacred spaces in Miami that serve as vital sources of reaffirmation of life and community.

Curated by Marie Vickles with Carl Juste in partnership with City of Miami Parks & Recreation Dept and Little Haiti Cultural Complex

Support also provided by Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance, IPC Artspace, iWitness, FIU Public Humanities Lab, and FIU Steven J. Green School for Public and International Affairs.

This month’s Lakay Spotlight is the Director of Asaho Dance and Company, Fabiola Auguste Asaho Dance & Arts Company

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Port-au-Prince, with roots in Okap Haiti, she is a dedicated to serving and uplifting her community through dance, healthcare, and culture.

Founded in 2025, her company meaning “initiation” is a sacred space for women omens to move, learn, and honor Ayiti.

Part 2 of this month’s resident highlights our first LHCC resident at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex Nancy St. Leger, founder of in honor of 🇭🇹

Nancy shares more about why teaching Haitian folklore dance is important, her mission, and how to join classes at LHCC!

The Nancy St Léger NSL DANSE ENSEMBLE is a performance collective dedicated to the preservation of authentic Haitian Folklore dance. The company was created to demistify Haitian Folkloric dances and to celebrate Haiti’s rich cultural Heritage. NSL Danse holds classes every Saturday at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.

We educate students of all ages as well as people of various ethnicities by teaching and performing traditional dances in schools and events throughout the community.

Thank you for serving our space, youth, and community in Little Haiti - your work is appreciated and important.
