Saturday, August 15 Little Haiti Cultural Complex , Flip It & Reverse It concludes with a community gathering celebrating Haitian art, spirituality, movement, and culture.

✨Art is Spirit. Spirit is Art. (12–2:30 PM)

Led by Her Royal Majesty Queen Mother Dr. Dòwòti Désir (Social Curator, Flip It & Reverse It; Manbo Asogwe), “The Govi Project: Waging Peace” invites participants to create and decorate govi—traditional Haitian vessels that hold memory, prayer, and offering—as part of a collective artwork honoring loved ones, ancestors, displaced communities, and visions for peace.

The afternoon continues with “Yanvalou Speaks: Voice of the Ancestors,” a participatory dance class led by Dr. Weislande “Yanui” César—educator, Haitian folkloric dancer, instructor, and cultural leader—offering an experience of a foundational Haitian movement tradition rooted in resilience, community, and collective expression.

✨ Chilling Big in Little Haiti (3–6 PM)

Continue the celebration by visiting Sanctuary: Our Sacred Place at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, IPC ArtSpace, and the studios of Edouard Duval-Carrié, while enjoying food, music, conversation, dancing, and connection throughout one of Miami’s most vibrant cultural neighborhoods.

Presented by Flip It & Reverse It in partnership with the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.

Additional support provided by Florida International University Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs – Public Humanities Lab, IPC ArtSpace, The Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance, the studio of Edouard Duval-Carrié, and the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.

We look forward to celebrating with Miami’s Haitian community and all who wish to join us. 🇭🇹
