This is not your average hackathon! One day virtual hackathon to unite our technology community to fight racism. Our Unite & Fight Hackathon will center on using technology to design and build applications that provide education, resources, and training to combat racism.

We want to spark ideas and solutions but we want to support ongoing work. This hackathon will be continued by a regular weekly meetup and will culminate in the judges' presentations in September 2020. There’s still time to register, link in bio!

Announcement: In an effort to ensure engagement and maximum impact we have rescheduled the Unite & Fight lightning talks and hackathon to July 16 and 17th, to allow more time for more organizations to join and benefit from the solutions being started at this event. We are excited to be pairing teams with local organizations!

Thank you to the South Florida Black community for providing valuable input on how to make the Unite & Fight initiative have true engagement and impact.

Important to note is that the Unite & Fight initiative has many layers. The lightning talks are there to inform and educate those building in the Hackathon. The Hackathon teams will then build for 4 months and present to judges in October 2020. The objective is for the tech community to engage and work with local Black and social justice organizations from Hackathon to judging and hopefully beyond!

Miami Cowork Danceathon is a virtual fundraiser that helps participating workspaces raise $50,000 toward a COVID-relief fund that provides free workspace for small business owners displaced by the pandemic. Funds will be allocated to help each individual space cover a percentage of their monthly rent costs, since all have had little to no income due to the spread of the coronavirus.
