This is a personal post but it’s includes Abuela & sister with same name “Zoila”. This pic was taken on my Abuela’s 80th bday, but you see mom and abuela rocking the breast cancer shirt & cap.
This post is to mark a 20 year anniversary of my mother being operated at Jackson Memorial Hospital to removed the cancer she had in her breast. I remember promising God (The Universe) to please save her and I would change my life to be a better man. At the time I was lost in drugs & unhealthy lifestyle.
I’m happy to say I still have my mom, and I spend the day with her, it was a blessing. And I’m far from perfect but I also have worked hard to change my life from the low point I hit back in 2002. I will share more of my story another day, as a sign of hope for all those young people that feel lost. I still have things to work on, life hasn’t been easy the last couple of years, but I’m a better man and I still got my mama. So on Fathers Day, Juneteenth 2022, I had the blessing of just having some of my mom’s home cook food. I won’t take these moments for granted.
