First static preview of the FIAT Materfer 7230 Series First-Class Coach in Cuba Train Simulator | Classic Edition.

Built in Argentina and delivered to Cuba between 1975 and 1978, these passenger cars became part of an iconic set that included first-class coaches, cafeteria cars, and baggage vans.

Shown here in its original livery, this first-class coach recreates the early appearance of the FIAT Materfer cars during one of the most recognizable eras of Cuban passenger railroading.

More variations are on the way, including additional paint schemes and the later modified versions with updated windows.

First texture test of the FIAT Materfer 7230 Series passenger coach in Cuba Train Simulator.

Built in Argentina and delivered to Cuba between 1975 and 1978, this is the first-class coach from the original set that included first-class passenger coaches, cafeteria cars, and baggage vans.

Shown here in its original livery, the FIAT Materfer appears in a classic early 1980s scene at Havana Central Railway Station, alongside the MLW MX-624 in its original Cuban paint scheme during a yard movement.

More variations are on the way, including additional paint schemes and the later modified versions with updated windows.

🚂🇨🇺 Havana, two levels of rail history in one shot.

Up on “El Elevado”—the iconic elevated approach (over 1 km long) into Havana’s Central Railway Station—our MLW MX-624 rolls out with two baggage vans, heading (most likely) toward the workshops.

Down at ground level, the DF7GC slips into Estación Central Carga with Soviet-style freight wagons, while the skyline gives you a glimpse of the Tallapiedra Thermoelectric Plant (also known as Otto Parellada), a landmark of Havana’s industrial belt that began generating power in the early 1910s.

Passenger rails above. Freight rails below. La Habana moving. 🔥

Here’s a first listen at our work-in-progress TE114-K audio as she departs La Coubre Terminal in Havana. We’ve been engineering these sounds from the ground up, layering and blending multiple diesel sources to capture that heavy Soviet character—idle, notch-up, load, and the raw throatiness under acceleration.

Built in Argentina, these hauled passenger cars belong to the same family as the iconic FIAT Concord 7230 Series DMUs, bringing even more authenticity and historical depth to the Cuban railway experience. A new chapter of classic rolling stock is taking shape. Stay tuned. 🚆🇨🇺🇦🇷

🚆 WORK IN PROGRESS — FIAT Materfer 7230 Series 🇦🇷➡️🇨🇺

Straight from the workshop: our first 7230-series first-class passenger coach, inspired by the Argentine rolling stock that arrived in the 1970s.

These cars trace their roots to Materfer (Material Ferroviario S.A.), the historic builder based in Ferreyra, Córdoba, created under the FIAT Concord era—known for producing passenger coaches for Ferrocarriles Argentinos and exporting rolling stock abroad.

We’re recreating that classic first-class comfort vibe—preserved examples of Materfer first-class interiors show features like reclining seats, rotating seating, and individual reading lights, which we’ll be bringing into the final interior detailing.

🧳☕ And this is just the start: this collection will also include the baggage van and the café car.

🚧 Cuban Route Development | Línea Sur (Havana) 🚧

Development continues on the Cuban Route for Train Simulator Classic, now centered on the CUJAE halt area, located at the junction of CUJAE Road and Avenida Rancho Boyeros in Havana.

🗺️ One image shows the zone in Edit Mode, with Google Maps embedded into the terrain to ensure maximum accuracy in track alignment, road layout, surrounding buildings, and landmarks.
🌉 The second image features the railway bridge over the Almendares River, a structure deeply rooted in Cuban railway history.

🏛️ The large building visible in both images is the Center for Electroenergetic Research and Testing (CIPEL), part of the Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría” (CUJAE), a well-known landmark along this historic railway corridor.

This section of track is especially significant: it follows part of the original alignment of Cuba’s first railway, inaugurated in 1837. Although the current bridge is not the original one, it remains one of the oldest railway bridges still in active use on the island, bearing witness to nearly two centuries of rail operations.

Step by step, rail by rail, Cuban railway history is being brought back to life. 🇨🇺🚂
