During LOUD Week, LOUD Love of Urban Design® proudly presented the LOUD Icon Award: Champion of the Arts to Councilwoman .

This is not a light honor. The LOUD Icon Award is reserved for visionary leaders who actively move culture forward — not just in words, but in policy, presence, and power. It recognizes those who create access, advocate for funding, sit at decision-making tables, and ensure that the arts remain essential to community development.

Councilwoman Julien champions the arts heavily. At New York Fashion Week, we stepped into the Soul of an Icon presented by — featuring the legendary work of Freddie Leiba — and it pulled us into the full scope of his brilliance. Magazine covers on covers. Cultural moments frozen in time. An archive of excellence.

From Beyoncé to Sadé and countless others, during his career he styled the icons, shaped the visuals, and defined eras. His creative eye? Impeccable. Timeless. Unmatched.
