Ten years ago, I received a breast cancer diagnosis that changed my life forever. Today, I’m celebrating a milestone that I’m deeply grateful for—but one that I know not everyone gets to reach.
I wouldn’t be here without the incredible network of family and friends who walked beside me through every challenge, every treatment, every moment of fear and hope. I’ve now passed the 5-year remission milestone and reached my 10-year cancer anniversary—a blessing I don’t take lightly.
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, my heart is with those still fighting, especially those battling metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Too many women and men face this disease without the same fortune I’ve had.
I’m asking you to do two things:
Please say a prayer for those who are still in the fight, for those who’ve lost their battle, and for their families who carry on with courage.
And please consider reaching out to organizations like Florida Breast Cancer Foundation or a local cancer support organization in your area. Ask them what you can do to help—whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness. Cancer touches all of our lives in some way, and together we can make a difference.

The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) was founded by 3 Miami women in 1993. The organization began as a nonprofit, grassroots organization dedicated to ending breast cancer through advocacy, education, and research.
