This is a page to show support, love and prayers for my sister, Sharon Lynn Anderson (3/18/69-6/26/94), whose life was cut short in a violent home invasion in South Florida. Sharon was murdered in Miramar, Fl., by Pablo Ibar and Seth Penalver, along with her friend Marie Rogers and the home's owner, Casimir "Butch" Sucharski. After nearly 18 years, we were stunned in 2012 when a jury in Fort Lauderdale acquitted Seth Penalver, virtually letting a cold-blooded murderer go free. Pablo Ibar, who was also convicted of this crime was granted a new trial and in 2019, was found guilty again and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. The home invasion robbery-triple homicide caught on a home-security camera was dubbed the Casey Nickelodeon case by the Florida media after "Butch's" restaurant of the same name. The triple murder of all three victims was captured on a home surveillance camera that secretly recorded the final moments of all three lives. The shooters whose images were captured shooting all three victims were unaware of the secret surveillance. On what would be the victims final night of life, they chatted about the day's events at the dining room table, enjoying conversation and a glass of champagne. His house guests, models and friends Sharon and Marie, were unaware of the impending danger that would ensue moments after their arrival. They were not aware of the secretly-installed cameras in the home. Moments later, real terror strikes when two men - one disguised in nothing more than a baseball cap and dark sunglasses - burst into the home brandishing firearms. Twenty-two minutes later, Sharon, Marie and Butch Casey lay dead, shot multiple times in the back of the head and neck. Casey had been severely beaten with a gun. Marie, who had only been shot once, would later be seen on video as having escaped the first gun shot. Had the second "disguised" shooter not shot her for the second time, Marie would have been the sole survivor. My beloved sister, Sharon, was shot twice in the back of the head, with one bullet's trajectory traveling the orbit of her skull and exiting her right eye. My mother had to veil her face to mask the damage and allow her to keep her dignity in death. The first gunshot administered by who we believe was Pablo Ibar, though horrible, didn't immediately kill Sharon. I watched in horror the video images of Sharon pushing herself up off the floor before she was shot again moments later in the back of the head. The second gunshot, administered by who we believe was Seth Penalver, ended her life immediately. The Aftermath:
My mother could not give Sharon an open-casket funeral without heavy lace covering her beautiful face, and I did not attend Sharon's funeral because I was in the last weeks of my first pregnancy. I delivered my first child three days after Sharon was murdered. She didn't even know it was a girl... and for the rest of my daughter's life, the murder and her birthday are inextricably bound. The "Casey Nickelodeon" triple murder home invasion trial was and still is, the longest, most expensive criminal trial in the history of South Florida. Our Promise to Sharon:
It has been many years since we've last seen Sharon's beautiful face, and for those who were fortunate enough to know Sharon, we take solace in knowing her beautiful spirit is in a better place where there is no more suffering. We pray for the souls of Marie and Butch, who died along with Sharon that fateful day in Miramar, and that they find peace. We trust God in His infinite power and wisdom that justice will one day prevail. Sharon Lynn Anderson, gone from this earth too soon but will never be forgotten.
