River of Grass is a site-specific installation featuring 20 artists addressing the Florida Everglades’ ecological and cultural narrative.
Custom-built, 6-foot square looms serve as both a canvas and an architectural element, creating corridors of woven environments in the galleries.
These sculptural interpretations of this vital Florida ecosystem using fiber arts, natural elements, and weaving techniques are both inspired by and an homage to the 1947 book by Marjory Stoneman Douglas, “The Everglades River of Grass”.

Under the Red Tent
opening March 8th, 12:00-3:00 pm
It is in this space that magic happens - when thread slips from our hands to the loom and becomes fabric. Each artist in this exhibition weaves her own story, and within these four walls those stories intertwine, forming a collective tapestry.

UNDER THE RED TENT

Red Thread Art Studio presents an immersive textile installation exploring interconnection, lineage, and collective structure.

…..
These chairs arrived from Barranquilla, marked by time and wear.
Today, through white weaving, knots and fringes, they are reborn as symbols of resilience.
The marks of time transform into beauty, the threads into roots of memory, and what could have been discarded becomes a story that persists and begins anew. 🤍

Honored to be part of the exhibition Hey, Look Me Over! with my piece: “The Most Beautiful Flower in My Garden.”

This annual event features works by artists represented by the Bernice Steinbaum Gallery, as well as extraordinary talents who have yet to find gallery representation.

Come meet the artists, engage in meaningful conversations, and explore an exciting variety of works across different mediums.

A celebration of creativity, community, and a reminder that there are far more talented artists than there are spaces to showcase them.

“The Most Beautiful Flower in My Garden”

This iron chair,
marked by time, by weather.
No longer perfect, yet it holds a story.

Upon it, a garden begins to grow:
a woven thread that clings like roots.
And from its cracks… a flower is born:
light, vibrant, unapologetic.

This chair is a reflection on how we judge ourselves…
on that inner judge who is rarely fair.

Too often, we are our harshest critics.
We see ourselves through lack, through comparison, through doubt.

But… what if we changed that voice?
What if we looked at ourselves with tenderness?
Like that flower that, despite everything, still chooses to bloom?

“The Most Beautiful Flower in My Garden”
It’s not ego.
It’s reconciliation.
It’s an act of self-love.

Because even in wear and decay,
we are still capable of beauty, of light, of care.

This flower doesn’t strive to be perfect.
It blooms as it is: free, urgent, true.

This garden doesn’t grow outside.
It grows from within.
And there…
The most beautiful flower in your garden.

Thank you Adriana Herrera for this great article.
Thank you and curator for the beautiful exhibition “Ancestral Lines”

Very happy to be part of this exhibition with my piece : “Lighter Legacy” invites to reflect on the need to release, forgive, and transcend. It honors our roots while calling us to find balance between memory and the present, between what we inherit and what we choose, between weight and freedom. Through this process, we create a legacy that is lighter, more empowered, and filled with possibilities for growth and transformation.
