ONLINE registration is now live for our next workshops. One in-person registration held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 (11 am for Young Pelicans ages 5-9 and 1 pm for main stage actors, ages 9 and older).

BREAKING NEWS! Jorge Calil to succeed Sam Chesser as the Artistic Director of the Pelican Playhouse beginning September 16, 2026. Sam has been an important presence both on the stage and off for almost 15 years debuting as The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz and entertaining us with his charm on stage in many memorable roles throughout the years. Most notably Sam directed the musical Peter Pan which starred founding father Ralph Wakefield as Captain Hook. Sam’s love of theatre and community helped smooth the transition to a new era when Ralph and Nancy retired and we will be forever grateful for his dedication and creative talents. Sam’s “day job” requires him to relocate outside of South Florida so we must say farewell. We wish him all the best and thank him for his years of service as Artistic Director. Jorge is excited to helm this new era of Pelican Productions. Jorge has been an actor, director, and writer at the Playhouse for more than a decade and we are thrilled he said yes!

The next series of Pelican Playhouse performances (Including our Mami Springs Centennial show) will be co-directed by Sam and Jorge, with support from many other Pelicans.

Following the Centennial Show in September, Sam will officially step aside as Artistic Director, with Jorge assuming those duties. Please join us in wishing Sam well and in welcoming Jorge to his new leadership position.

Spring Recital is full of variety and laughs and it promises to be an evening of fun! Come see community theatre at its finest. Watch out though - the Pelican Playhouse is swarming with acting bugs. One might just bite you!

OPENING NIGHT IS UPON US! SPRING RECITAL! Come join us for laughs and fun as we present our annual recital, a collection of short skits and musical numbers we often refer to as “actor’s choice”.

Opening This Saturday: 5 Performances Only. May 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. There’s some crazy funny stuff going on at the Pelican Playhouse! Come see “LOL 5 short funny plays” this weekend. LAST THREE SHOWS! Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 12:30 (plenty of time to get home for the Super Bowl!).
