Memories of a wonderful evening. ✨

We are so proud to have given a home to these extraordinary pieces and to have worked alongside Milton Mizell and his incredible family throughout this journey.

A quick note on our schedule this week: Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th we are open by appointment only.

Starting next week we return to our regular hours:
Tuesday through Saturday, 12PM to 6PM.

Blackquetry remains on view through September 30th.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Congratulations, Milton. ✨

Blackquetry was everything we hoped it would be, and more.

Three evenings, a room full of people who felt it, and work that stopped everyone in their tracks. We are so proud to be part of your journey and so excited for everything still ahead.

Thank you to every single person who came out and made these events what they were. And to the Mizell family and friends: your warmth, your joy, and your unwavering support throughout all of this meant everything. You are the heart behind this exhibition.

We can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Look closer. That’s not paint, that’s wood.

Every shadow on his face, every petal on that jacket, every shift in tone from light to dark is a carefully selected and placed wood veneer.

Milton Mizell doesn’t paint his subjects. He builds them.

Ten thousand painted sticks.
One surface.
One question that won’t leave you alone: how deep does it go?

Verde by Francisca Garriga is what happens when patience becomes a visual force. Each of the 10,000 sticks placed by hand on wood, arranged in concentric precision until the surface stops being a surface and becomes something else entirely — a tunnel, a frequency, a place the eye wants to fall into.

At 61 × 61 × 6 cm, it occupies a modest amount of wall. It takes up considerably more space in a room.

Carlos Andrade’s practice has always circled the same questions: identity, memory, connection, and what we carry with us when we move from one place to another.

I Am is one of his most direct statements yet.

A field of flowers, bold and layered, built up in mixed media with the kind of confidence that only comes from knowing exactly who you are. The title isn’t a question. It isn’t an introduction. It’s a declaration.
