Join us for one of our featured performances from P.E. as part of the SOFOLO Loco IMPROV & COMEDY FESTIVAL, co-produced by Main Street Players and Short Round Improv!

(To be read in the voice of Morgan Freeman) P.E (Playful Ensemble) started as a class and then became a house team at Actor’s Rep about 10 years ago. They’ve performed at theatres and improv festivals all over the state of Florida. The cast has changed slightly over the years, but the vision has stayed the same: Like each other, play together, and always remember that the good times are now. (Freeze frame on P.E. jumping in the air, as “Time of my Life” plays.)

With audience participation and a different theme for every show, no two ImproNovelas are ever the same. High-school romances, murder mysteries, fútbol fever, family scandals… anything can become a telenovela.

There is no script. The actors don’t know what will happen, and neither does the audience.

This is just one of over 18 shows from some of the MOST TALENTED hilarious, and experienced improv teams and players in the cities!!!

So sign up, hone or try out a new skill in a fun, welcoming place with some of the best teachers in the city!

Join us for one of our featured performances from ImproNovela as part of the SOFOLO Loco IMPROV & COMEDY FESTIVAL, co-produced by Main Street Players and Short Round Improv!

ImproNovela is a live improv comedy show inspired by the passion, absurdity and over-the-top melodrama of the Latin American telenovela — this time, en Spanglish.

Each performance takes inspiration from a volunteer in the audience, who shares stories about their life: relationships, friendships, dreams, rivalries and memorable experiences. From there, the cast transforms those real-life details into a completely improvised telenovela, creating characters, romances, villains, betrayals and unexpected twists right before your eyes.
