Miami Music Festival (MMF) has become an international destination for young artists preparing for the rigors of the professional music industry and a welcome addition to South Florida’s blossoming cultural dynamic. The launch of the Miami Music Festival in the summer of 2014 received overwhelming applause from both audience members and students alike. A classical music festival originally staged
during Miami’s summer “off-season,” MMF is now expanding to year-round events, and continues as an immersive training ground for talented musicians looking to develop the skills needed to excel in the professional world. Our expanding institutes in Orchestra, Opera, and Conducting invite the next generation of artists from around the world to take the stage in exhilarating, dynamic, and frequently career-changing performances. Each program is fundamentally designed to bring out the best in every artist, preparing students for evolving demands in the professional world where they need greater flexibility than ever before. During the Festival, students move quickly from symphony performances, to opera, to chamber music concerts, and even competitions–requiring adaptability, determination, and dedication. Altogether MMF provides an intense, challenging, and stimulating artistic environment. Seeing a demand and public interest, founder and artistic director Michael Rossi created the Festival in response to industry need by creating MMF for aspiring musicians during the slower summer season when the culturally rich metropolis of Miami is all but void of classical music. As a graduate of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program at the Kennedy Center’s Washington National Opera under Plácido Domingo and emerging professional conductor, Rossi understands the necessity of providing a space for developing young artists to study with world-leading artists while performing for full audiences. The Miami Music Festival is proud to call the already strong musical center of Miami Beach it's home, and the festival aims to expand on the city’s cultural landscape by hosting outstanding training opportunities and innovative performances. As our audiences have affirmed from MMF’s many successful performances, there really is no “off-season” where talent is concerned. Building upon a foundation of success, MMF is poised for many more encore seasons.
