An extraordinary evening at Dolly & Oz Presents. ✨
There is something truly special about bringing art, music, and community together—and our evening celebrating the arrival Elizabeth Barek’s art was a wonderful reminder of why these gatherings matter.
Elizabeth’s distinctive work invited a closer look and thoughtful conversation, while the soulful, sultry sounds of Moonbeams Jazz Band filled the gallery with warmth, rhythm, and just the right touch of sophistication. Art and music have a remarkable way of transforming a space—and an evening—into an experience.
And our community? Simply wonderful. From longtime friends and collectors to new faces and unexpected connections, the gallery was alive with conversation, curiosity, generosity, and genuine affection. There is no greater pleasure than watching people come together, discover something new, and find a reason to linger.
This is the spirit of Dolly & Oz. A place where creativity finds an audience, relationships take root, and art becomes a catalyst for connection. I have always believed that the most meaningful experiences happen when we make room for discovery—and when we bring good people together around the things that move us.
Elizabeth, we are delighted to welcome your work into our world. Moonbeams, thank you for setting such a captivating tone. And to everyone who joined us, thank you for showing up so wholeheartedly and continuing to make this community what it is.
An evening to savor, a community to cherish, and so much more to come. 🥂
Art makes us brave. Community makes it matter.

✨✨Something new is arriving at Dolly and Oz Presents on October 10.

We’re excited to introduce Elizabeth Barek, a Miami Beach–based artist whose powerful works transform the American flag from a familiar emblem into something tactile, layered, and deeply human.

From across the room, the work is bold.
Step closer, and it changes.
Scraped surfaces. Layer upon layer. Moments of reduction. Evidence of the hand. Evidence of time.

Barek’s flags are not simply representations of a national symbol. They invite us to look again—to consider identity, memory, place, belonging, and the meaning we give to the things we inherit.

Her background in design, manufacturing, and American craft brings an extraordinary respect for material, process, and workmanship to the work.
Influenced by the artistic legacy of her late brother, Frank Weeden, and her mother, sculptor Vera Weeden, Barek approaches the flag as something lived with—shaped by time, experience, and human touch.

This is a flag you don’t simply see.
You feel it.

The New York Dog Art Show is an international contemporary art project that brings together original artworks created by dogs from around the world.

The exhibition explores the relationship between creativity, emotional well-being, and the important role animals play in contemporary life. At a time when many people experience isolation and loneliness, the exhibition presents art as a form of therapy and reminds visitors of the comfort, connection, and joy that fur babies bring into our lives.

✨TWO ARTISTS. TWO DISTINCT VISIONS. ONE NIGHT IN THE LOWER EAST SIDE.

This Wednesday, September 23, Dolly & Oz Presents continues Where We Gather Now at 2 Rivington Street with a dual headline exhibition featuring Jeremy Turpin and Anita Katz.
Two artists. Two mediums. Two very different ways of seeing.
Jeremy Turpin brings a deeply personal exploration of portraiture, beauty, identity, and perception—works that invite us to look beyond the surface and reconsider what we think we see.

Anita Katz transforms material into memory, creating sculptural works that explore presence, place, and the emotional resonance of objects.
Together, their work creates a compelling conversation around identity, memory, beauty, and the ways we see—and are seen.
