Seikō Kawachi is a Japanese printmaker, working mainly with woodblock techniques to create his energetic pieces, which are covered in scored lines evoking whirlwinds of swift movement 🌊
Alongside repeated motifs of classic Japanese artworks and imagery, including Hokusai’s ’The Great Wave’ and the figure of of Mount Fuji, Kawachi often includes groups of flying roosters in his colourful scenes, as in ‘Fly Zipangu’ (2021) 🐓

“We know that roosters can’t really fly (…) My statement is to encourage people to try and do what they think is impossible to achieve."

Introducing our final exhibiting gallery, before the fair opens tomorrow! ⏰

Established in 1972, The Tolman Collection, Tokyo, are a Fine Art publishers and gallery based in Tokyo, who represent and share the work of Contemporary Japanese artists through art fairs and exhibitions worldwide! The gallery also operates a second branch on Fifth Avenue, New York, and has contributed to numerous museum collections, including The Metropolitan Museum, Musee Tomo, and LACMA .

Marie Watt is an American Indigenous artist, a member of the Seneca Nation (Turtle Clan), whose work is grounded in Indigenous teachings and beliefs, history, community, and language as a “living force". Her intaglio prints created with Tandem Press, recently exhibited at The Armoury Show 2025, are inspired by recent sculptural neon signage pieces, and work with the idea of call-and-response through repeated language 💬

Inspired by the lyrics of Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Going On’, the twinned “Mother Mother” in ’Signal' (2025) acts as “a call that carries back to our ancestors and forward to future generations”, exploring language as an important bridge connecting us with land, nature, and each other.

Tandem Press will be exhibiting Marie Watt’s series of neon prints at INK Miami 2025, opening this week! 🌟

Tandem Press is a publisher of fine art editions based in Wisconsin, offering a range of techniques including monotype, screenprint, etching, lithography, and relief printing. The studio works with prestigious visual artists to realise their print projects, as well as students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and also offers tours, workshops, and educational opportunities to the wider community! ✨️
