NEW STUDY: ART KEEPS YOU YOUNG

A new study from researchers at University College London suggests that regular engagement with art and culture may slow biological aging — with effects comparable to weekly exercise.

The findings point to something collectors and creatives have long understood intuitively: living with art changes how we feel, think, and move through the world.

Among the study’s conclusions:
— Weekly cultural engagement was linked to slower biological aging
— Participants appeared biologically younger
— Diverse artistic experiences amplified the effect
— Art may support cognitive function while reducing stress and inflammation

Perhaps art is more than aesthetic.

Presented in the Austrian Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale, Florentina Holzinger’s Seaworld Venice transforms climate anxiety into visceral spectacle.

Born in South Korea and based in Seoul, Yunjung Choi explores the perceptual and emotional resonance of light.

Trained in Western Painting at Suwon University, her practice is rooted in what she describes as “the aesthetic of the ephemeral” — fleeting moments in which form dissolves and boundaries soften beneath shifting illumination.

Through layered, meditative compositions, Choi constructs contemplative spaces where light becomes both subject and atmosphere, inviting viewers into a quiet state of reflection.
