So I found this photo of me at an art exhibition I had over in Miami Beach in the 1990’s (off 5th Street) in an Art Gallery where I used cloths line to hang my painted artwork on paper (I even painted my daughter’s Claudia (12) and Sonia(10)body’s and hung them on the cloths line too ) … sometimes we photographed everything we did … sometimes we just did it - No Photos to document it … we just lived ART 🤣
Here I am with Leo my son , he’s about 8 yrs old . Art Happenings in the 1980’s & 1990’s !!

Earlier today, we interviewed the Honorable Judge Steve Leifman (retired) and toured the groundbreaking and hopefully soon to open Miami Center for Mental Health and Recovery!

Judge Leifman has been a champion for mental health reform, and this center is a testament to his dedication. We're honored to share his insights and learn about the innovative approaches being implemented to support individuals in need.

With this crazy moment that we find ourselves in right now - I think back at a time when just looking around you could just find objects that look like discarded things that had some type of mystery and beauty.
Sweeter times , less stress and anguish .
Let’s not forget to see around us, to
show empathy and compassion .
It is the humanity in all of us that we can’t loose.
Just thinking today on this gorgeous day.

Sunday Remembrances -
In 2014 ,I went into a frenzy of painting. It was a great year. I created over 12 large 50” x 50” Mixed media on canvas abstractions for my daughter Sonia’s wedding. They had their reception at a gallery in Downtown Miami - it was an amazing moment.
The love and energy exploded.
This painting - “Dialogo “ was part of that series and it is part of the Copperbridge Foundation Art Collection.

I believe that it is thru the ARTS that we can be UNITED.
Let’s not lose Hope.

This was 2007.
18 years ago already!
As a creative individual and Art Educator, I also decided to be involved in expressing myself in Art Activism thru art education.
Here is an example -
In 2007 over 1000 students from North Beach Elementary School on Miami Beach, FL and I created this terrific Portico for EARTHFEST 2007 at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in Key Biscayne, FL. We collected over 1000 shoes and reused them in this creative art installation entrance.
It was both challenging and exuberating to be able to create artwork from an everyday object. The shoes were reused for other events and eventually recycled. All of us involved enjoyed and learned from the process - Working in Teams and Making Something Beautiful Collectively.

2013 - in Miami at the Puerto Rican “ Fiesta de la Calle de San Sebastián”. It was a terrific event !
I was able to set up my artwork.
I had created these artworks in Puerto Rico and at my art studio “ Casa Coqui Miami “ in the Wynwood Art District of Miami that I shared with Puerto Rican artist Hector Maldonado. Those were indeed great times !
Wow ! Time flys !
