Cuando tu corazón está quebrantado o herido, Dios está ahí para consolarte. Él se acerca a los de corazón afligido y espíritu arrepentido, ofreciendo su paz y esperanza.

Estar contrito en espíritu es tener un corazón arrepentido y humilde, reconociendo que Dios tiene la solución.

Choose a country to represent, wear its colors or cultural attire, and bring a flag, sign, or artwork. Students do not have to be from the country they choose. This experience is about learning, representing, and celebrating different cultures together. 🌎❤️

Ayer, Cristi Hernz, fundadora de Selva Beats MIA y presidenta de FIMLA, tomó la palabra durante la Celebración de Vida de DJ Melvin Díaz, DJ Tigre 11, compartiendo sus propias palabras y hablando también en representación de los padres y la familia de Melvin.

Hoy compartimos la versión en español de las palabras que preparó para este momento.

Cristi conoció a Melvin en 2023 a través de Selva Beats MIA, unidos por el amor a la música house. Lo que comenzó a través de la música se convirtió en comunidad: la Familia Selva.

Su mensaje reflexiona sobre quién fue Melvin, sus sueños, su familia, la importancia de apoyarnos unos a otros, el perdón, la unión y, sobre todo, recordar a una persona por cómo vivió, no solamente por las circunstancias de su partida.

WORDS FROM THE SERVICE 🕊️ (Make sure you read till end)

Yesterday, Cristi Hernz, Founder of Selva Beats MIA and President of FIMLA, spoke during the Celebration of Life for DJ Melvin Díaz, DJ Tigre 11, sharing her own words as well as speaking on behalf of Melvin’s parents and family.

Today, we share the English version of the words she prepared and delivered.

Cristi first met Melvin in 2023 through Selva Beats MIA, brought together by a shared love for house music. What began through music became community, the Selva Family.

Her message reflected on who Melvin was, his dreams, his family, the importance of supporting one another, forgiveness, community, and remembering a person for the life they lived — not only the circumstances in which they died.

May his love for music remind us to support one another’s dreams while we are still here to witness them.

No es fácil perder a alguien. Es normal sentir todo lo que sientes. Somos humanos viviendo una vida sin saber lo que viene mañana.

Estas son herramientas que yo también estoy aprendiendo a usar mientras vivo mi propio duelo. No tengo todas las respuestas. Estoy aprendiendo a sentir, procesar, descansar y seguir adelante un momento a la vez.

Comparto esto para todos los que están pasando por dudas, dolor y emociones fuertes. No tenemos que ser fuertes todo el tiempo. A veces simplemente necesitamos herramientas para mantenernos firmes mientras sentimos. 🤍

Si hoy necesitas una de estas seis, elige una. Eso es suficiente.
