Methuen Memorial Music Hall

Methuen Memorial Music Hall was built by Edward Francis Searles to house "The Great Organ".

Today, The Methuen Memorial Music Hall is a registered historical landmark and is actively used for performances of many kinds. The Great Organ is the center piece of the Hall and the 15-week Summer Organ Concert series represents the flagship events of our season. We also feature a diverse set of events throughout our season, including piano, vocal, and instrumental performances. The Hall is available for private rentals, including weddings, gatherings, and performances.

Cecily DeMarco concludes the 2026 Summer Concert Series this Wednesday, August 26th at 7:30pm. Her program "Sweet Resonances: A Celebration of Organ Sound and Spirit" includes two transcriptions: Bach's adaptation of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in A Minor, BWV 593 and DeMarco's take on Maurice Ravel's Pavane pour une infante défunte. It's a beautiful day for a concert! Erik Wm. Suter presents "Gems from the Last 100 Years" tonight at 7:30pm. A native of Chicago, he is a musician of international acclaim. For nearly 10 years, Suter served as Organist at Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC. He has performed at national conventions of the American Guild of Organists and the Organ Historical Society.

There are TWO opportunities this week to hear Ezequiel Menéndez's program, "Argentina Meets Germany at Methuen." Dr. Menéndez plays at the Hall this Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30pm and reprises his concert on Thursday, August 13th at 2pm. The program opens with Felix Mendelssohn's Organ Sonata No. 4 in B-flat Major, Op. 65 and includes Astor Piazzolla's Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas. This Thursday, August 6th, gospel choir Choral Majority VOX performs our third matinee at 2pm. The Choral Majority ’s Gospel Choir lead vocalists offer a variety of song styles with tight harmonies, sharing the message of love, unity, peace and hope in our neighborhoods and nation.
