Concerning Canal Days:

It's the town's biggest event of the year, thousands of people pour in to see the town, the outside vendors, and take part in what, for many, has become a yearly family tradition.

I didn't open for it last year. I'm not sure whether I'll open this year. Simply put I'm not sure my nerves can handle dealing with that big of a crowd.

I'm going to play it by ear: I may be open, I may not, but regardless of whether I'm open or not there will be a hundred plus shops and vendors for you to peruse.

Enjoy the event, I hope you find something you just can't live without, cheers! 😊

It's good to be back!

There are still many shops closed due to the recent flood, but many will be open this weekend and I know for certain we could all use your support. Some shops got it much worse than others, my wife at The Blue Umbrella Bistro and Bakery and myself here at Tarvin's were spared the worst of it and consider ourselves quite fortunate.

If you have some time this weekend swing through Metamora, look in on the rebuilding efforts, and patronize those of us that have been able to reopen if you can. Every dollar spent is appreciated and goes a long way to helping the town get back on its feet.

Things might still be a little messy from flood cleanup, but the shop is mostly back together. See you soon!

I thought I would have everything ready to open for this weekend but alas I'm going to need a few more days to straighten and organize everything so I'll remain closed this final weekend of August.

I WILL be re-opening Labor Day Weekend! Many other shops are aiming for that weekend as well, so, we really look forward to seeing you.

Reminder, Labor Day Weekend is also Metamora's annual music festival which is still on! So come down, eat, drink, shop, listen, and be merry!
