After being put on pause during COVID, the JPA Theatre Kids! Competition Team is officially making its return!

The Competition Team is an intensive program focused on musical theatre performance, ensemble work, and teamwork. Team members will work together to study, rehearse, and prepare an abridged version of a musical while building the skills needed to perform as a strong, unified company.

Despite being a competition team, this program is about more than just competing. It’s about challenging young performers, building confidence, strengthening teamwork, growing as artists, and creating an unforgettable experience together.

Jefferson Performing Arts proudly supports the 12th Annual Kelly Kicking Cancer “Who’s Got Talent Gala!” They’re currently looking for talented performers to take the stage for a chance to win a $1,000 prize!

Featuring local celebrity judges such as Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, JPA Founder Maestro Dennis Assaf, and Scoot from WWL Radio.

When 38 planes full of frightened passengers landed in Gander, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001, the people of that small town rallied together to meet each traveler where they were emotionally, spiritually, and physically by opening their hearts and homes. Come From Away is a story of their humanity.

We asked our cast what this remarkable musical means to them. Their answers are as personal and unique as the individuals whose stories inspired the show.

There is something for everyone in this show, and our hope is that you walk out of our theatre feeling just a little bit better than you felt walking in✈️☁️

From dialect coaching to chair-ography (we’re coining this term!) and music, this company is creating beautiful connections with one another and pouring so much heart, humor, joy, and care into this show.
