Pay attention. Louisiana has a culture and a language regardless of your genealogy. And it’s not English. And the French doesn’t all come from Canada.
A good reminder why genealogy does not always match lived cultural experience.

PS The decedent's mother was a GONZÁLEZ. This would probably give folks vertigo: Born in Louisiana, native Francophone, father German descent, mother Louisiana Creole Francophone, daughter of a Spaniard and who mother of German descent, too. Merry go round and round and round ...
