When I accepted a position at Messina's Catering & Events, I knew it would be nearly impossible to continue to produce Food Fight and Top Taco. Massive declines in alcohol consumption and marketing dollars put the nail in the coffin. The risk/reward for putting on high-budget events in New Orleans became too much for me. I was hoping someone would step up to the plate and take the reigns and continue to produce these amazing events, but no one was interested in inheriting such a risky venture.

While I absolutely loved putting on these events, the stress can be unbearable and the formula for success is not guaranteed. One bad weather event could have bankrupted us. Maybe one day, the tides will turn and we can do it again, but for now, we are officially announcing the end of Yeah You Right Events.

Congratulations and thanks to all the restaurants, spirits, sponsors, and staff that participated in Top Taco and Food Fight. We couldn't have done it without you. And thank you to our charity partners and for running such amazing organizations and doing what you do for the children of New Orleans.

We loved their Pineapple Zydeco Sandwich — a mouthwatering combo of sliced BBQ chicken, grilled pineapple, red onion, peppers, pepper jack cheese, and guacamole.

Big thanks to and for bringing the flavor to Food Fight NOLA!

Mahoney’s wowed the crowd with their Sexzechuan Beef Poboy—Chef Josh’s pulled Szechuan beef dressed with bok choy and daikon radish slaw, tossed in miso-sesame, topped with candied Thai chilies, all served on classic Leidenheimer bread.

The Will and the Way teamed up with to serve the “Sad Boy Club”—a bold cocktail with tequila, gochujang-marinated honey, apricot liqueur, lime, and a dusting of house-made Korean spice tajín.

Y’all brought the heat—literally and figuratively!
