Yesterday….I finished my Verzenio….2 years. My first out four cancer maintenance treatments done. I look ROUGHHH but idc lol

I am praying that the body aches, brain fog, crippling fatigue get better like my oncology team told me it would. With finishing treatments comes, in ways, more fear + anxiety (because less check ups now and stopping something I know is lowering my recurrence rate) but I decided to just celebrate and take it all in.

This was recorded May 22…after recording it, even then, I told myself how ridiculous this was, and people would think I’m being super dramatic. So it was going to go unposted just like my other 172745 videos I recorded to share.

But then I thought of the cancer community…this is honestly the real, raw, aftermath of cancer. And these EXACT situations are also why this journey is so lonely because we constantly battle these thoughts, majority if not always alone. After cancer, a slight headache? Immediately think worse case scenario. Feeling a bit off? Immediately think worse case. A bit more bone or body pain? Immediately think worse case. A small rash that appears on my body? Immediately think worse case.

Why do these thoughts happen when I’m in remission? You may think, just move on already – live your life. You beat it, why are you thinking these thoughts?? Because the worst case scenario has already happened…the unimaginable has already happened…and I can’t put it into words how destructive that is to you mentally.

I want to move on…so badly. I even get frustrated at myself how much my diagnosis still consumes my daily life. But if you haven’t gone through it…please be patient with us. Please still check in on people you know who are in remission, especially if it has only been a few years. We’re trying our best, I promise you🥲🩷
