RinCon 2025 starts today! We'll have the table set up and ready to go all weekend long! Just come to our staging table, we'll get you set up with brush water and a palette while you select your miniature!
* Do your color blocking, big area colors, first. Details on top of that. Don't fall into the trap of doing the details then trying to paint around them.
* Rinse your brush often while painting, it'll help you keep the right amount of moisture in the bristles, which helps move the paint from the palette to the brush to the figure.
* Don't leave the brushes in the water, the longer it stays there, the more the tip of the brush will curl and then you won't have a sharp tip for detail work. Set them on the brush rest if you're taking a break with them.
* Less paint is more control. 2-3 drops of paint can go a long way on a miniature, and just like your vegetables, you can go back for seconds. You should go back for seconds.
* The Reaper Miniatures MSP paints and the Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl paints are fairly opaque, so generally one coat will do the job, but two thin coats of paint will be the winner here.
* Thinner coats of paint dry faster. Globing the paint on will take longer to dry in the recesses of the figure, so make sure to spread it out.
* The paint handle is there for the figure, so you don't get paint on your fingers. Please try not to paint the poster tack. And the bottom base of your figure does not need to be painted.
* And as always, let us know when you are done! We take care of the cleanup and palette washing!
As usual, it's a first-come-first-serve style seating, with the last seating an hour before the vendor area closes for the day.
