Lights on Sterling

Our lights will run on our extended time the next few nights. We typically keep them on if cars keep coming. 5:30 - 1am ( or later if you’re a night owl) we hope that everyone has a merry Christmas. Don’t forget the our lights and the true reason for the season.

Don't forget, the best viewing spot is from across the street. Parking directly in front of our house might block the view from some of the more seasoned visitors. ;)

Was testing the new lights this evening. Think it’ll look good.

Adding some new props this year. We will basically have a short fence spanning the width of the yard. It’s going to add so much to the display. This is gunna be something you won’t want to miss.

We enjoy seeing our viewers taking advantage of our website to pick their songs. Blue is tied for most voted song. It’s not in our standard playlist. I can also see that we had nearly 28 total viewers hit our site.

So whats new this year you ask? We've added a few additional songs to our playlist. Such as; Believer which was a shared (sequence) throughout our community. it's a project that is put on every year. We participate in this by applying it to our display and then submitting a video which then gets put together by the creators of the sequence. Sometimes our community will get noticed by the artists themselves. One year King of Country took sight and started sharing the video also. It was pretty neat. Many homes across the world upload their videos. Another is Sounding Joy, which will also be added to the video montage. Also in the playlist you'll find an awesome song by Chris Tomlin - At the Cross. Not sure if the person who came to my door will see this, but I added this one for you. We were starting to put up our lights and a gentlemen came to the door and I mentioned my lightshow and said he should come back to visit.

Outside of the few new songs added this season, there have just been a lot of changes in the background. Switching around some of the stars, adding stars to the smaller tree tops. (which are 3d printed) None of these things are available at your big box stores. A lot of the displays like ours are DIY with a little bit of community help from people who cut out snowflakes from coroplast. (think highschool yard sign).

Lastly is a new way of listening to our lights. Not many people are walking by on foot. However if you are caught without a radio, you can now listen to our lights through your phone via this link
