Food Patriots is screening in Miami (O-Cinema) and Brazil (Planeta Festival). The film is a happening in places where people want to try taking small steps toward healthier choices but don't know where to start. The film shows what happens when a mom gets a few baby chicks and tries to get her teenage sons and uninterested husband to change their relationships with food. She started with a small step. Synopsis
Many consumers are concerned about the disconnect between food and health. Touched by their high school football player son’s battle with an antibiotic resistant super-bug filmmakers Jeff and Jennifer Spitz take a closer look at what is in their food and what anyone can do to make healthier choices in their own homes, schools and communities. This film shows how one family tries to shift away from fast, processed food-like substances and toward more fresh, local and organic choices. Their many questions set the course for a journey of discovery. With humor and humility the filmmakers show how a small 10% change in what you eat and what you buy at the grocery store can lead to big results. Featuring a diverse cast, including urban farmers, chefs and athletes, the documentary celebrates a movement and educates the next generation of consumers.

RoundUp is EVIL stuff!

Half of All Children Will Be Autistic by 2025, warns Senior Research Scientist
According to Prof Stephanie Seneff: ‘At today’s rate, by 2025, one in two children will be autistic.’ She noted that the side effects of autism closely mimic those of glyphosate toxicity, and presented data showing a remarkably consistent correlation between the use of Roundup on crops (and the creation of Roundup-ready GMO crop seeds) with rising rates of autism. Children with autism have biomarkers indicative of excessive glyphosate, including zinc and iron deficiency, low serum sulfate, seizures, and mitochondrial disorder.

Glyphosate is used on corn and soy, all soft drinks and candies sweetened with corn syrup and all chips and cereals that contain soy fillers have small amounts of glyphosate in them, as do beef and poultry fed with GMO corn or soy. Wheat is often sprayed with Roundup just prior to being harvested, which means that all non-organic bread and wheat products would also be sources of glyphosate toxicity. The amount of glyphosate in each product may not be large, but the cumulative effect (especially when eating processed food) could be devastating. A recent study shows that pregnant women living near farms where pesticides are applied have a 60% increased risk of children having an autism spectrum disorder.

Have you tried just a 10% shift? If you are already buying 50% organic produce go another 10% if you can. Small steps in the right direction get you to a better place.
