Congratulations to the SJSD 8th Grade Orchestra!

Students from Bode, Robidoux, Spring Garden, and Truman Middle Schools competed in the Silver Dollar City Music in the Parks Festival in Branson on April 25.

They earned 1st place in their division and were also recognized as the Best Overall Middle School Orchestra at the festival!

Join us in celebrating these talented students and their directors: Mr. Wootton (Bode & Truman), Ms. Hile (Robidoux), and Mrs. Ritter (Spring Garden).

The St. Joseph School District has once again earned the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation. This national award recognizes districts that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment to music education and ensure access for all students.

This recurring honor highlights the collective work of our teachers, administrators, parents, and community leaders who prioritize music as a vital part of a well-rounded education. SJSD remains one of only a select few districts in Missouri to receive this distinction, reflecting our long-standing tradition of excellence in the arts.

Bode and Truman 8th Grade Orchestras performed at the KC Middle School Large Ensemble Festival at Liberty High School this afternoon and received an “Exemplary” rating on their performance (the highest possible score). We are so proud of them! We got to celebrate with a late lunch at Raising Canes afterwards.
