Where you’ll find me painting:
Most days you’ll find me painting in and around the Treasure Valley, studying light, value, and color, whether outdoors or back in the studio.

Currently deep in preparation for an upcoming museum exhibition in May with The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho!

My dedicated sketchbook for this show is quickly filling up with reference photos, composition plans, and specific locations for en plein air sessions.

Nicolai Fechin’s (Fay-shin) portrait work is second to none. For me it’s the pairing of opposites that bring dynamic interest to his figures. I had no idea, until seeing his work in person, he kept skin textures smooth & soft. I am in complete awe at his bold yet carefully crafted paintings!
