As you take in the vibrant scene, one mysterious figure catches your attention; her magnetic and inviting gaze pulls you in. With a hopeful smile, you exchange your crypto for gaming tokens and stride confidently towards the woman whose presence has captivated you, each step bringing you closer to what promises to be an unforgettable night at Shelly’s Arcade.

Welcome to Trausti's Taproom, a cherished addition to the Byte's Cypherpunk VR series. This scene holds a special place, dedicated to the memory of my dear Viking friend, Trausti Hraunfjörð. Trausti was not only a visionary creator of transformative virtual tour software that shaped my journey but also a connoisseur of finely brewed ale.

Navigating through the rugged streets, you arrive at a crossroad where a formidable figure, clad in black, awaits. With a sly grin and cigar smoke swirling up into the dark air above him, he places a drink before you, his dark shades adding an aura of intrigue. Arms crossed, he gestures for you to indulge, making it clear that imbibing Trausti’s potent concoction is the sole path to obtaining your prize.

Casting a wary glance in each direction, you settle onto a worn neon-green stool at the bar, directly facing the enigmatic proprietor, ready for the next phase of your journey. As you take a sip, the intensity of the brew overwhelms you, and you nearly cough out a kidney, your eyes watering as you gulp down the rest, seeking solace in the searing pain. Trausti, tickled by your struggle, chuckles loudly, “I like you, kid! Let me pour you another, and then we can get down to business.”

Step into the neon-lit aisles of Tom's Pantry, a digital haven nestled in the sprawling metropolis of Byte's Cypherpunk 2081 VR series. This location serves as a heartfelt homage to my late grandfather and WWII veteran, Thomas B. Slayton—a monumental figure who affectionately dubbed me “TC”.

Upon entering the neon-splashed expanse of Tom’s Pantry, you feel like you’re stepping into another dimension—distinct from the cozy confines of Ruby’s Café. The immense aisles unfold before you, teeming with cyberpunk oddities and relics from the surface world. You observe Tom navigating this treasure trove with ease, his cybernetic limbs whirring softly with each movement, a stark reminder of the inevitable merging of man and machine. His eclectic attire bridges the digital revolution and the dapper days of the early 20th century, providing a comforting snapshot of the store’s unique charm.

Tom’s generosity knew no bounds; he delighted in taking me and my cousins on numerous adventures into Yellowstone from his cabin in Island Park. He imparted wisdom on how to fish, navigate a 4-wheeler, ignite a fire, and master the art of roasting the perfect mallow. As time has passed, I’ve had the chance to reflect on the profound influences in my life, and Grandpa Tom occupies a place of unparalleled respect and honor.
