Hi I am Madison O’Connor and I have been dancing for 16 years at Ronnie McLaughlin Dance Studio. Words could not describe how much I love the studio and the people involved. It has given me a place to learn, grow, and be able to do something I love. The teachers and dancers always support and encourage me, and I have made many amazing memories and friendships. Being a part of this studio means so much to me, and I am thankful for every opportunity it has given me. Whether we are winning Worlds or working really hard in practices we are always having fun together, i will always miss it!

I have been dancing for 16 years and will be attending college in the fall to study Early Childhood Education. During those 16 years, I have had the opportunity to help teach the younger dancers at the studio, dance in many holiday parades, compete in numerous competitions, dance at the 76ers game, dance in the Philadelphia Mummers parade, and win Worlds three times! While at the studio I have made countless amounts of memories, discovered my second home, and found a team that has become family. I will forever cherish everything Ronnie’s has given me.

I have been dancing for 12 years and have been a part of Ronnie McLaughlin Dance Studio for the past 4 years. After the summer, I will be joining the military. These four years of dancing have been filled with unforgettable memories and friendships. “Dance alone, has held purpose for me; it’s been my silent partner all these years-my guardian angel.
We communicate each day and like every relationship, sometimes struggle to understand each other. Dancing has worked me to the extremes of exhaustion and exhilaration. It has given me anxiety and soothed me from it.
It has nursed me through heartache.

Dance has asked me to define my individuality and ultimately to redefine my own notions of beauty. It has made me aware of my ego and the complexities of having one. Dance has shown me the beauty of humility. It has helped me develop a capacity for awareness —to find beauty in so many fleeting moments. To be a dancer is to work within an art form that lives and dies in nearly the same instant and, in this sense, offers powerful lessons in mortality.”
