We received word that there are good things happening at Playhouse Merced. One, they hired 2 additional staff members to help in the schools, so they can continue to fulfill their contact obligation to Merced City School District. Kudos to Marcelle for keeping the program going.
Two, they hired a bookkeeper, and they should finally see or hear an actual up-to-date financial report. Their goal is to be transparent with everyone with all monies that come into the theater. Everyone seemed thrilled about that.
Three, they are still dealing with things that prevent the conservatory classes from beginning, but they are still hopeful they will happen again.
We're so proud of the boards' efforts to help Playhouse continue to thrive. If you know one or all of them, take a moment on their social media pages to thank them. They have been through the wringer, but they are still standing.
