Starting tomorrow, the goddesses Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite will each choose a champion to decide the most important qualities a young girl can have to make her way in the world. Is it a top-notch mind, a loving heart, or a fighting spirit? Plot twist: it’s all three. Come join our heroines on a whimsical journey of self-discovery and friendship!

The Olympians runs from June 19th - June 28th, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets available at the Box Office or online at playhousemerced.com

Join us THIS WEEKEND as we open William Shakespeare's The Tempest, directed by Erin Day. Experience one of Shakespeare's most enchanting adventures filled with shipwrecks, spirits, laughter, love, and second chances.

We are so excited for our next production! The Playhouse Merced Young Artist Conservatory advanced teens bring you THE OLYMPIANS!

Opening Friday June 19th and running for two weeks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Three Greek goddesses: Athena, Aphrodite, and Artemis, engage in a bet about how to best advance women’s place in the world. They make a wager to determine which is the most powerful tool: a top-notch mind, a loving heart, or a fighting spirit? Each goddess chooses one mortal girl, plucked from obscurity, and sets each of the three girls on a quest to prove their point. When the male gods catch wind of the mortals’ plans, they use their powers to make the quests much more treacherous than the godesses intended. Ultimately, the mortal girls (and the goddesses) realize that it will take all three qualities to make a difference, and they realize that, rather than competing with each other, they must work together to prove that sometimes you can all be heroes.

Featuring an eclectic score of well-loved hits from Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Blondie, The Chicks, Pat Benatar, and many more, this tale of Ancient Greece has never felt more contemporary.

Come From Away is a critically acclaimed musical featuring a culturally relevant script accompanied by a deeply moving score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein.

The show has earned global success with 37 award nominations, 13 of which resulted in wins, most notably Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards.

The show’s global presence resonates across all audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together, no matter what the circumstances.

Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001.

Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
