"Where Country Roots Meet Classic Rock"

Our Rock and Country Music Academy blends performance-based music education with a beginner-friendly curriculum designed especially for students with little to no prior musical experience. Each week, students participate in a group rehearsal where they learn classic rock and country songs that have been thoughtfully adapted for new musicians.

Through playing in a band from day one, students develop a strong foundation in their instrument while building confidence, teamwork, and a love for music in an encouraging, high-energy environment. Along the way, they learn how to listen, collaborate, and support one another—skills that are just as important on stage as they are in life.

Ages: 7-15

The Mentone Springs Performing Arts Studios, founded and directed by Lee Farrar Bailey, inspires creativity, confidence, and collaboration through the performing arts. Located atop Lookout Mountain in beautiful Mentone, Alabama, the studios serve students of all ages across Northeast Alabama, Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia, and beyond through both in-person and online instruction.
Our mission is to nurture artistic growth and personal expression through comprehensive training in guitar, voice, piano, songwriting, composing, and acting. We provide a supportive, dynamic environment where students explore their talents, develop their skills, and discover their unique artistic voices.
Through private lessons, group classes, and specialized programs such as The Lookout Mountain Rock and Country Academy, students learn to create, collaborate, and perform with confidence. The Academy focuses on developing bands and teaching students how to write, arrange, and work together as musicians, fostering teamwork and creativity.
Whether studying individually or as part of a group, every student is encouraged to connect deeply with their art, their community, and the joy of performance.
