Design and build small sculptures that balance in surprising ways. You’ll combine art and physics while experimenting with weight, symmetry and center of mass. Balance sculptures are engineered to rest perfectly on a single focal point, often using precise physics, counterweights or kinetic movement to defy gravity.

Investigate how color can change, separate or react through quick chemistry stations. The lab will include pH color changes, chromatography, UV color effects and simple color-mixing exploration.

August 27 » Build a Paper Automaton

Create a simple moving paper machine using hand-turned mechanisms such as cams, sliders, or tabs. By turning a small paper handle, you rotate an internal axle (or crank) that pushes vertical shafts up and down, making paper characters move, wave, or dance
