Want a break from the faux spring and back to winter blues? The Chippewa Valley has 2 amazing show opportunities for you!

At the Grand Theater in Eau Claire is CVTG's production of Twilight Bowl. A one act play set in small town Wisconsin about 6 young woman's journeys, namely cousins Sam & Jaycee who are about to head to college & prison respectively. (Warning: This show does contain strong language and sensitive topics)

And at the Mabel Tainter in Menomonie is MTG's production of The Play That Goes Wrong. (Which is also playing next weekend as well) Play That Goes Wrong covers a community theater production of a murder mystery where anything that can go wrong.... does go wrong.

So please, take your pick (or do a back to back date night!) and go support your local theaters! 💕

Dearest Gentle Reader,

It is with a heavy heart that I must make the hardest decision that I have ever been faced with since founding this company back in October of 2020. Ghostlight Players will be dark during our 2026 season.

For those who may not know about Ghostlight, I have been solo funding the productions throughout our history with the assistance of some very generous donations from patrons along the way. Which, leaning heavily into one of our company core values of complete transparency, has often left me in seasons of personal sacrifice putting off bills to make sure that productions move forward to the best of my ability as a producer and most of the time, director.

Unfortunately, I found myself unemployed in September and my job search has not been fruitful. It has hurt me as people have asked about plans over the past several months to not have an answer for you. And I am so thankful for the support that I can gotten from those I consider friends as well as others in the community. But I can not in good faith commit to the financials needed to put forward a production in the coming year. (If you are unaware, it costs hundreds of dollars to even just get the licensing rights to a show and buy scripts in addition to building set pieces, supplying costumes and props and securing a venue and rehearsal space.) And even on the budget I had while employed, it was not always easy to cover all of the production costs that came up.

The Chippewa Valley is truly a haven for the arts and brimming with talent. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement about being dark this next season instead of announcing a show and audition information in the next few weeks. But we hope that you will continue to support the other amazing arts groups that we have in our community and region.

We will return in 2027 but for now, this is our humble bow as we take a brief hiatus.

Ah yes, here we are. And then a cape or bat or something was seen near the shores of Lake Menomin. It seemed as though a creature of myth and legend had been invited into our beloved jewelry box theater here in Menomonie.
