Giraffes are special because they are the tallest land animals on Earth and possess extraordinary physical adaptations, such as a super-sized heart to pump blood up their long necks and unique fingerprint-like spot patterns.

"Giraffe Family" by wildlife photographer LARRY CALOF.

Larry rediscovered his passion for photography, capturing wildlife and landscapes with natural light to reveal emotional connections, unique perspectives, and the mystical beauty of the natural world.

Drop by the gallery to discover the special moments he has captured.

Join us to celebrate our September Featured Artist CHRISTINA LIM's exhibit "To Ground and To Flow"— a collection of paintings exploring the restorative landscapes that ground or move us.

Come meet the award-winning artist, discover her latest work, and mingle over light refreshments.

A devoted lover of nature and the divine, Christina explores landscape painting as a means to create visual sanctuaries—inviting us to stay grounded like the trees or flow like the tide.

Recognized with multiple awards as an emerging artist, Christina's work prioritizes emotional resonance over literal depiction. She often transforms daytime reference photos into serene evening scenes to evoke peace, explaining: "A landscape is just a picture until we put our spirit in it. My paintings are portals for people to enter and dwell within—places of refuge to help us pause, breathe, and make room for hope.”

Christina's work can be viewed online at www.portolaartgallery.com, www.chrislimart.com and Instagram@christinalimart

> NEW Artist!

We're excited to announce that RONEN VAINISH has joined our gallery!

"I started to blow glass sometime in 2014 after a visit to Murano (Venice) Italy. I was fascinated by the depth of the colors and the ability to play with the optical effect as the light travels through the glass.

By trade, I was a software developer and a mathematician at heart. Working with glass gives the possibilities to apply science into interesting geometrical shapes and color artifacts.

I am still learning new techniques and concepts which I hope will contribute to more interesting and creative work. I like new challenges and I am willing to take risks to experiment with new shapes and colors.

I am blowing glass at BAGI (Bay Area Glass Institute) where I started my first step as an artist."
