Fun night out in Memphis at the Memphis Listening Lab Saturday where Henry Rollins (2.13.61) came back to town to discuss and play the newest Cramps release "Gravest Gravy" - which he put out together with Larry Hardy and Ian MacKaye. And, as Henry does, he went deep on the gory details -- and the packed house ate it up. He also brought a surprise, an unreleased test pressing of "Songs the Lord Taught Us" with a different sequence and much rawer mix. Both records were recorded here in Memphis at Sam Phillips studio by Alex Chilton.
If you weren't lucky enough to get a ticket - keep an ear out on WYXR. They recorded it with plans to air it in the next few weeks.
Thanks to Andria Lisle for helping make it happen! We are looking forward to more great releases from the Cramps archive down the line. Thanks Robby Grant for snapping this pic!
