nd Miss Black Memphis Pageants is designed to cultivate,develope and recognize the talents of youngladies between the ages of 6 to 11 for the Little Miss,,,12 to 19 for the Miss Teen...and 20 to 24 for the Miss Black Memphis Title...Your
participation as financial sponsors...volunteers...and supporters makes it possible for us to develope these youngladies into positive, responsible, innovative scholastic
achievers. The Miss Black Memphis Pageant, which started as a tribute to the contributions of all women and women of color the world over ...Is designed to emphasize scholastic achievement, poise, personality, intelligence, respect, talent, positive thinking, charm and moral restructuration...thru fashions, cultural presentations thru musical entertainment exhibitions, creative artistry and appearance. In our work since 1968, We have made available over 2 million dollars in educational scholarships to LeMoyne Owen College. We've given to our winners and participates many top of the line gifts, mainly the winners, gifts such as mink coats of all lengths,sizes and colors, years supplies of top of the line cosmetics,fragrances and hair products from lines such as Fashion Fair, MAC,AMPRO, Keystone Labratories, Lucky Heart, J LO, Gio Armani, Obsession for Women, Chanel # 5...and various gift certificates for gifts from other
first class top of the line companies thru out America...also tours to STAX Museum of American Soul Music, Rock N Soul Museum, The National Civil Rights Museum, The Belz Museum, A tour of the House of Blues Recording Studios to watch as World Renoun action star and movie producer/ director,"Steven Seagal" recorded his CD,"MOJO Priest". And a host of others...We have a host of impeccable gifts for our winners each year...We are the only pageant in America that have not loaned, but that has given our winner a car. With your financial sponsorship support we can and will continue to give our winners and participate top of the line gifts and great inspiration for years and years to come. Prior to the "Economic Recession of 2008" we have been able to send many of our winners to
the "Miss Tennessee USA Pageant for several years and the Miss Black America Pageant. As things continue to balance out we will continue this accomplishment. In the Miss Black Memphis Pageant Organization,during our 47 years of operation we have have been involved in promotions with
various celebrities such as World 3 Time Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Muhammad Ali and Mrs.Ali, Mr.Don King, Lisa Marie Presley, Ms.Priscilla Presley, Ice Tea and Ice Cube, Soul Brother # 1, Mr.James Brown, NBA Champion Star, Mr.Michael Jordan, World Tennis Champion,Ms.Venus Williams, Grammy Award Winning Entertainer,"Black Moses" Isaac Hayes, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.III...and many many others...We continue to build bridges on into the 21st Century with the people and the
leadership, locally, nationally as well as internationally. For many years the Miss Black Memphis Pageant have cultivated and developed the talents, intelligence and character of thousands upon thousands of youngladies thru out the Tennesse, Arkansas and Mississippi areas as well as the midsouth. An analysis of the participants of the Miss Black Memphis Pageant Organization from 1968 to today indicates ( 50 % ) were in civic work and projects.( 47 % ) held major offices in school. ( 39 % ) held an "A" average with ( 12 % ) holding a GPA of ( 4.0 ). MOST were active in church and various other social and cultural involvements. ( 47 % ) had part time jobs, and the MAJORITY of them grew up seeking higher achievements in life.
