W**e engages nearly every sense except hearing. Opera engages nearly every sense except taste. So, we brought the two together! 🍷🎶

At Opera Uncorked, our friends at Rootstock W**e Merchants worked with us to pair w**es with the unique qualities of our Handorf Company Artists’ voices—soprano, mezzo-soprano, and tenor—giving guests the chance to experience opera and w**e in a whole new way. We even brought the voices together for a pairing to end the evening!
Plus, we kicked things off with a little extra sparkle: a sparkling w**e toast celebrating Sarah Squire’s 20th year. 🥂

Thank you to everyone who sipped, listened, and celebrated with us. Cheers to a wonderful evening!

Join us in just a few short hours for Family Day! Arts and Crafts, costume dress-up, live performances (1:50 & 3), information from community partners, and MORE. Captain Ned is looking forward to sharing his pirate stories. The festivities will begin at 1 pm at our HQ in Midtown (216 S Cooper Street).

Community Partners: Like You Film Club, the Children's Museum of Memphis, Ballet Memphis, the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, Cazateatro, and the Halloran.

What could you do this week 9/7-9/13? ...Enjoy opera, of course! 🎶
Join us on Monday for our pirate-themed Family Day, taste Bel Canto during trivia at Crosstown Brewing, check out a book (preferably about opera 😉) at the library, grab lunch Downtown or dinner in Midtown, head out to Germantown for a festival, celebrate the Shell’s 90th Anniversary, or get the inside scoop on the historic homes of Central Gardens.

The best part?! You’ll hear opera at ALL of these places! 🤩

We've had the best few days celebrating our 15th year of 30 Days of Opera! We started off by singing at City Hall on 901 day, traveled to Jonesboro to perform at Native Brew Works, sang for those at Shelby Farms Park, performed on the Delta Stage at the Delta Fair, and finished it off by celebrating the grand opening of the Metal Museum.

Bring your friends and family to the Memphis JCC, Sunday, September 6 • 12:30–1pm for a FREE Opera Memphis Concert!
Good Music, Good Food, Good Community!
This concert is part of Opera Memphis’ 30-Days of Opera. For fifteen years, Opera Memphis has filled communities in Memphis and Shelby County with a month of free performances through its annual 30-Days of Opera program. Guided by the belief that music has the power to inspire, connect, and broaden perspectives, Opera Memphis aims to make opera accessible to all.
Some of the musical selections are to be inspired by the KAVOD: Memphis Holocaust Survivor Legacy Project exhibition on display in the Shainberg Art Gallery - September 1–24.
Sam’s Corner will be open and running a lunch special of traditional Israeli food for purchase!

30 Days of Opera starts September 1!
We’re so excited to be kicking off our first week of the 15th year of 30 Days of Opera! Check out where you can find us starting Tuesday. Whether you’re stopping for lunch on Main Street, taking a break at the park, joining the community for a grand opening, or something in between, there’s something for everyone!
