I’ve been busy in the studio creating these mini bowls for The Salvation Army’s Empty Bowls project. There’s something so special about making something by hand that will eventually help put food on someone else’s table.
To give these little ones a bit of extra personality, I used Speedball Underglazes to add fine details and elevated patterns. I love how the colors stay so crisp and vibrant, making each bowl a unique piece of art for a great cause.
The Empty Bowls mission is a reminder that even the smallest contribution can help fill an empty bowl in our community.

Hey everyone! I’m the “K” in OK Clay Shop …that’s for Kinard! Super pumped to be taking over the Speedball Ceramics page this week!

These flying vessels were all made using Speedball underglazes, which I love for their color range and how easy they are to layer and blend. Each one has its own personality , from the bright parrot vibes to the bat and blue-winged mug.

Hi everyone! I’m Elizabeth Owen, and along with my husband, Tim Kinard, we are OK Clay Shop — the “O” from Owen and the “K” from Kinard. We’re both college art instructors and share a passion for transforming our illustrations into lively, story-filled ceramic forms.
