Tennessee offers over 100 specialty license plates for interest groups like the Tennessee Arts Commission, and revenue generated goes to arts organizations so they can use it to further their missions and make arts accessible to more Tennesseans. INTERIORWORKS is back after a pause last year and our dancers are so excited to perform one last time for you before they all scatter for summer break! This show is very special to the company - they choreograph, dance, and create the visual look to promote it - and all proceeds go toward the Artists’ Resource Fund to help dancers who are in financial need for a variety of reasons.

Happy HAPPY birthday to Iori Araya! Iori is completing her SIXTEENTH season(!) of professional dancing, and has been at Ballet Memphis since 2017 when she had her debut with George Balanchine’s Square Dance.

She says she embraces her performance anxiety before she goes on stage because the nerves actually help her perform well.

She describes herself as adaptable, emotional, and lucky, and wants you to know “Thank you always for the warmest support! I’ve been loving getting to know some of the audience members in person and dancing for you all throughout the years!”

Iori and many of the dancers have been busy preparing for this weekend, benefiting the Artists’ Resource Fund. Buy your tickets today and support these amazing artists! Three shows - Friday @ 7:30pm, and Saturday @ 2pm and @ 7:30pm.

INTERIORWORKS is back! This dancer-produced show is an audience favorite and will take place over May 8 & 9 in the Fly Studio!

The programs include pieces choreographed by Ballet Memphis artists Iori Araya, Kennedy Ballard, Angelina Broad, Anwen Brown, Matthew Cunningham, Cecily Khuner, Phoebe Magna, Darcy McLoughlin, Wyatt Pendleton, Emilia Sandoval, and Sean Sessions plus guest appearances by Dance for Parkinson’s and Adult Ballet.

All proceeds benefit the Artists’ Resource Fund, which helps dancers with financial needs from anything like recovering from an injury to career changes.

Another huge thanks to the YBM students who have been dedicated for years to their ballet practice, and the YBM parents and parent volunteers who supported them through it all!
