Happy HAPPY birthday to Phoebe Magna! She has been dancing professionally for over 13 years and made her Ballet Memphis debut in the premiere of Steven McMahon’s Dracula in 2022.

💀 is her most used emoji, and she loves the delicious and creative menu in Cooper Young.

She wants to give a big shoutout to Crystal’s Body Shop! Crystal Brothers (the LEGEND and former Ballet Memphis artist) has greatly helped her dancing through Structural Integration!  

When asked what keeps you motivated and disciplined? Phoebe says, “The feeling of freedom in rehearsal and onstage keeps me motivated! Habits can turn into rituals if you give them a chance to develop.”

Happy HAPPY birthday to Demetrious Reed! This Philadelphia native just completed his third season with Ballet Memphis. We are happy to say he will be around this summer working with our Beyond Technique Summer Intensive.

He is a born performer and says if he were not a dancer, he would still be doing something in entertainment. He says that a place in Memphis that feels like home to him is his apartment with his pet rabbit. We also have another rabbit parent in the company (Anwen Brown)!

When asked three words that describe him, he responded aware, empathetic, caring, and anyone who knows him would surely agree with that.

Turn on some Beyonce or Mariah Carey and sing loud to celebrate! We’re so glad you’re here at Ballet Memphis, Demetrious! Have a wonderful day!

Support the Art AND the Artists!

INTERIORWORKS is back after a pause last year and our dancers are so excited to perform one last time for you before they all scatter for summer break! This show is very special to the company - they choreograph, dance, and create the visual look to promote it - and all proceeds go toward the Artists’ Resource Fund to help dancers who are in financial need for a variety of reasons.

See new works by Iori Araya, Kennedy Ballard, Angelina Broad, Anwen Brown, Matthew Cunningham, Cecily Khuner, Phoebe Magna, Darcy McLoughlin, Wyatt Pendleton, Emilia Sandoval, and Sean Sessions with special performances by our Adult Dance class and Dance for Parkinson’s.
