I'm happy my paintings are hung on the same wall with and Elis had a beautiful show here at Spalding Nix Fine Art recently. Check it out on SNFA's website. Scotty is known to me as a landscape painter but recently he's also been painting flowers. This huge show is on view through January 19 in Atlanta.

Painting inspiration photos from northern Wisconsin in September when I taught watercolor workshops at the Peninsula School of Art. This year the sky was usually clear and unbelievably blue. Only one problem: I'm inspired by clouds! so I added some photos from my 2023 trip. I 🩷 Lake Michigan.

🩷 PINKS! 🩷 Final two days. And--fair warning--price increase ahead. Stop by Stock & Belle tomorrow or Sunday, August 23 or 24. If you've never been to this shop, you're in for a treat. Thanks to everyone who's already gone downtown to view the show. The work doesn't really feel done until people have seen it in person!

Now presenting: EARTH COLORS, aka brown! I find they work well with a bit of blue and cobalt violet. As you can tell, I was attracted to that dark diagonal cloud in the source photo. Final days of the show! Sunday August 24th is the last day. And then--heads up--the price increases.

Believe it or not the first two watercolors were inspired by an 1829 John Constable painting, slide 3. I didn't want to paint the hill so I kept the shape ambiguous. In the installation shot the watercolor on the left is from a different series but I like how it looks with the other two. On view seven days a week through August 24! Go have some fun downtown this weekend!
