We are sad to learn of the passing of tenor Limmie Pulliam. He was a phenomenal artist who delivered powerhouse vocals wherever he performed. We send our deepest condolences to his family and longtime supporters during this time.

Here’s a quote from our Music Director, Robert Moody, on his passing:
“Limmie Pulliam, one of the world’s greatest tenors, left everyone jaw-dropped when they heard him sing. Here in Memphis he had become an undisputed favorite artist, whom we asked to return many times.
From rendition of “Nessun Dorma,” to equally phenomenal performances in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem just six weeks ago, his voice was a guaranteed show stopper!
Limmie was also a great friend and recital collaborator with my late spouse, Jimmy Jones. I imagine that they are already scheming and putting together another great concert up in the Heavens.” ✨✨

Today, we honor the mothers, grandmothers, mother figures, and caregivers whose love, sacrifice, strength, and guidance shape our lives in immeasurable ways.

Much like music, a mother’s presence has the power to comfort, inspire, uplift, and bring people together.

From all of us at the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, we wish you a beautiful and meaningful Mother’s Day filled with love, joy, and cherished moments with those who matter most. 💐

Happy Mother’s Day.
