David Lusk Gallery Memphis is pleased to present The Window of My Studio, an exhibition of new paintings by Hamlett Dobbins, on view through November 21.

Bringing together works made across a period of significant change in Dobbins’ life, the exhibition reflects on memory, time, and the familiar spaces and experiences that shape our lives. Rooted in intimate moments, personal surroundings, and everyday encounters with joy, Dobbins’ paintings offer a way to preserve fleeting experiences and return to them through the act of painting.

The Window of My Studio is on view through November 21 at David Lusk Gallery Memphis. An artist talk with Hamlett Dobbins will take place Saturday, November 21, at 12pm.

David Lusk Gallery Nashville presents What Kind Of Question Is That, In A Time Like This by Tad Lauritzen Wright, on view October 7 through November 14.

Bringing together drawing, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition explores connection, fractured identity, and the shifting relationship between us and the world around us.

Wright uses line as both a formal device and a means of connection. Across 165 small drawings, recognizable forms such as a head, a plant, a river, or an object shift and transform depending on the viewer’s perspective. Throughout the gallery, these drawings expand into three dimensions through sculpture and installation, moving between object, image, and environment.

Drawing from the visual language of modernism while turning toward internal psychology, animism, and collective belief systems, Wright’s work resists fixed identities. Forms fracture, rearrange, and morph, inviting us to reconsider what we think we know.
