One year of Pickle!! đź’š
I found lil girl at MAS beginning of December last year. The shelter had named her “Nala” so I took that as a sign. Then I went to meet her and LOVED her, obv.
On the day I was supposed to take her home, the shelter called me and said she tested positive for Parvo and asked if I still wanted to adopt her. I did some research, called the vet, and they said we’d have to spend about $3k to hospitalize her and there would still only be a 50/50 chance of survival. I wasn’t sure I could afford all of it, financially or emotionally. But Sweet Dustin reminded me that we should always bet the over, and that if there’s even a chance she could be ok, why wouldn’t we do everything we could to help her?
So I went and picked up sickly little Pickle and took her straight to the vet. She had bad pneumonia and was very underweight, but they said they didn’t believe she had Parvo. After loading up on meds, I got to take her home that day- no hospitalizations.
She had to gain wait and shake off that pneumonia, but she’s been the healthiest, sweetest lil bean ever since and I’m so glad we have her!
She’s goofy and so much fun, and also a reminder to always bet the over. HBD Pig!
