Today, we honor Juneteenth - the delayed but determined declaration of Black freedom.
As the National Civil Rights Museum reminds us, emancipation was just the beginning. What followed was a legacy of resilience, culture, and community power.

At MBAA, we celebrate that legacy through the arts by lifting up Black voices, preserving our history, and creating space for joy, resistance, and beauty.

Freedom isn’t finished. It’s practiced. It’s performed. It’s lived.
