Please remember that tonight is the Celebration of Life for Linley Schmidt. She was a valued company member with Our Own Voice for 25 years and we want to celebrate her life, creativity, and contributions to the Memphis community. Hope to see you on the dance floor! ❤️
We are saddened to announce the passing of Linley Schmidt.
Long time Our Own Voice company member, Linley Schmidt, passed away on Thursday, June 25th after over 6 years of living with ALS. She continued to perform even from her powered wheelchair for several shows. Her passing was peaceful and she was surrounded by family.
We invite you to join in her celebration of life which she planned with a short service followed by a massive dance party. Further details are below but know that her spirit will be there dancing with us. Follow the Facebook event page linked below for updates. We hope to have a live stream for people who cannot attend in person.
Linley Schmidt's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 10th at First Congregational Church 1000 S. Cooper St. Memphis TN 38104.
Gathering at 7pm and service starting at 7:30. Wear clothes and shoes that you can move and groove in because she insists that we dance!
