Designed specifically for middle school and high school students, our teen ceramics classes cover the fundamentals of wheel-throwing, hand-building, and decorating.

They will learn:
✅ Wheel-throwing: Centering, pulling, and shaping clay.
✅ Hand-Building: Pinch, coil, slab, and sculpting techniques.
✅ Decorating: Imprinting, underglazing, and carving.

Adaptive services and financial assistance are available through Arts for All.

Art at the Market launches next week! 🎨👩‍🌾

Join us next Thursday, June 18th, at the for the first of five FREE workshops designed for all ages and abilities. Sign up at the link in our bio to save your seat!

Workshop 1: No Peeking Contour Drawing: Practice fun, low-pressure line drawing using inspiration from local market produce. No experience required!

The details:
🗓️ When: Thursday, June 18 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
📍 Where: Bowden Park in Melrose, MA
🎟️ Cost: Free (Donations welcome to support our Arts for All program and the Market’s SNAP Match program)
⏱️ Format: All ages welcome. Reserve a 30-minute time slot. (Kids under 9 work with a caregiver).

Bonus: Submit your finished artwork on-site to be featured in our community gallery show at FYACS this September!

Sponsorships are officially open for Chalk Walk 2026! This annual celebration brings large-scale public art to Melrose while raising vital funds for our Arts for All program. We hope you can join us!

As a sponsor, you’ll be paired with a featured artist on a one-of-a-kind chalk square outside Melrose City Hall or along Ell Pond. Your support directly funds financial and adaptive assistance at FYACS.

If your kids love getting their hands dirty, let’s upgrade their creative space. Registration is officially open for our Summer Ceramics sessions at The Big Yellow House.

From introductory wheel-throwing to hand-building and glazing, students will learn real pottery techniques from professional instructors in small class sizes. We handle the materials and instruction, the kids bring the creativity!

Summer Session Breakdown:
🔅 Grades 3–5: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🔅 Grades 6–10: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
