Thank you to everyone who joined us for the CSDS March Class Series at lovely Memorial Hall in Melrose. This was a special day in our 2-week series with Miss Isabelle’s energetic Hip Hop Foundations class, and a special Birthday dance-celebration for one amazing girl!! 🧁🎉💜

🌸🎶💜🩰🎺 CSDS Youth to perform in “Dance Distinctive”, presented by City Ballet of Boston April 12 & 13, 2025 at The Strand! —

City Ballet of Boston (CBB) under the artistic direction of Tony Williams, presents “Dance Distinctive,” an unforgettable celebration of dance, featuring six contemporary works by Tony Williams, Gianni DiMarco, including two premieres by choreographers Chu Ling and Lorraine Chapman. With dancers from City Ballet of Boston and renowned guest artists, the performances take place at the historic Strand Theatre in Dorchester, April 12-13.

Tony Williams, Artistic Director, says, “Returning to the beautiful Strand Theatre is truly special for me. My connection to this historic space goes back to my childhood, when it was a moviehouse. I later had the honor of performing on its stage in 1980, when it became a live theater. The Strand also holds a significant place in my journey as it was where my Urban Nutcracker first premiered in 2001.”

Performances at the Strand Theatre (543 Columbia Rd, Boston, MA 02125), take place on Saturday, April 12 at 3pm, and Sunday, April 13 at 3pm. Tickets start at $20 and are available at cityballetofboston.org.

The six young dancers pictured here earned their roles in the show by successfully completing an audition process with CBB. These CSDS dancers are excited to perform Ella Fitzgerald classics like “A Tisket, A Tasket”, “Bubblegum”, and more in the Dance Distinctive program!! Bravo!! 🌹

HUGE congratulations to our young CSDS alumni EMILIA FAUCHER who is appearing as Young Snow White in Disney’s live action Disney film, “Snow White” - set to release in theaters on March 21, 2025! 🌟🍎

Emilia is pictured here with Miss Christina Leonard, Director of CSDS, with whom she received coaching and training to make it successfully through her final days of dance auditions in 2022. 📌 Fun fact: We met for rehearsal one day at the studio in a snowstorm, because greatness waits for nobody and this was truly an opportunity of a lifetime for this little star! 🩰🦋🌹

We are so proud of you Emi and so honored to have been a part of your journey towards this breakthrough role. During her 6 years at CSDS, Emi was always pursuing her dream of making it to the silver screen and we can’t wait to see you shine on March 21st when this film is released!

From one stage to the next, these 2 young artists have come leaps and bounds in such a short time together! Congratulations to our Teen Company dancers, Sylvie & Gideon for an outstanding performance at Starquest this weekend, for breathing life into this choreography, and for representing CSDS in a way that leaves a lasting, beautiful impression. Your accolades are well-deserved and we are so proud of your display of professionalism, artistry, and skill. A reminder that CSDS is closed today, Tuesday November 5th. 🗳️✊🏽. A call to grownups everywhere, may we set a positive example to the youth to make time & participate in the voting process today. Past the results of today’s election, may we stand in solidarity for a better future for our own children, the children of the world and care for the wounds spread throughout our great Mother Earth 🌍💛.
