Its a busy week for presentations. Join me for Chicago's Sweet Bakeries Remembered on 12/2 at Carol Stream Library at 7pm, Toys of the 1980s & 1990s Remembered on 12/3 at JCC Skokie at 12:30 or at Carols Stream Library at 7pm, or on 12/4 at Glenside Library (Glendale Hts) at 7pm, or 12/8 at Mundelein Library at 7pm.
Amusement Parks of Chicago will be on Monday 12/8 at 1pm at the NS Senior Center. They will be charging a fee but you can also watch this one on zoom. Tuesday 12/16 Fisher-Price Toys at Rolling Meadows Library 7pm. Message me if you need more information or check my website. CherylBrown.org

Riverview- who wants to go there Monday? I am planning a walk around the old Riverview grounds on Monday October 13 at 1:00pm with a tour guide who was a former employee.

Riverview Remembered presentation Saturday Sept 20 at 2:00pm. The world’s largest amusement park was right here in the city of Chicago. Join me for a fun presentation with lots of pictures and stories about this amazing park that opened in 1904. Relive the past with historian, Cheryl Brown, as she explains the rides and attractions: Aladdin’s Castle Fun House, the Bobs, Shoot the Chutes, Flying Turns, Pair-o-chutes, freak show and more. Chicago’s Sweet Bakeries Remembered. Join me for my tasty presentation Monday, Sept 8, at 6:00 pm at the Arlington Hts Senior Center 1801 Central (near Wilke) (in-person, free samples).
Reminisce about these historic Chicago bakeries (Jarosch, Reuters, Fingerhut, Webers, Dinkels, Roesers, etc) and baking companies (Maurice Lenell, Burny Bros, Salerno, etc) and discover where you can still buy mouth-watering, made-from-scratch baked goods.
